HOW ONLINE BESPOKE ORDERS WORK

Your order includes 25 invitation suites. The initial price includes your set up costs for one round of printing. Be sure to order enough. We only print what you order. If your quantity is "1" you will get 25 full invitation suites. If your quantity is 2 or more, you will get 25 plus that quantity. If you need more invitations after your proofs have been approved, a significant portion of the set-up work must be repeated. Additional suite pricing is 85% of the initial base order price, plus the price of the additional quantity needed. 

It's all made by hand.

THE DESIGN PHASE TIMING for this suite involves a hand-drawn monogram. Our designers send your full suite in an emailed PDF called Proof Set 1. Because the monogram is illustrated by hand, expect a first proof set for this design within 7 business days of your order. Hand-illustration timelines can only be rushed on a case-by-case bases. Your designer will be in contact with you via email the first business day following your order. Once your order is placed, we are here for you on phone, email, or video chat throughout the whole design process. Artwork changes take 4 business days. Text changes take only one. 

Once your artwork is approved, we start printing—and your production timeline begins!

In specialty printing, the first card holds most of the cost. For each Bell'INVITO custom order, a lead designer trained in etiquette and social situation management begins checking the details of your order and preparing your production layouts. There is no automated aspect of our specialty printing process. Within 2 business days your personal designer sends you a PDF of each piece to approve or revise. Your order comes with unlimited revisions, however no prodution begins until all items are approved. Each revision, no matter how small, can potentially take up to 2 business days to get back to you for approval. We do not accept any approvals with the request for an additional revision. You will need to see and approve one last perfect proof set before we will begin printing your order.

Upon your approval, plate-making artists, master craftsmen, and quality control specialists meet for a download from your designer. Their goal is to get to know a little something about you and your order so they can tailor it to your style. Afterwards, each expert takes off creating their aspect of your order. Once the elements touched by each expert come together, the magic is applied to every subsequent piece of your custom creation. Initial efforts to create, revise, and set up a machine for each aspect of your order are how the "base price" is achieved. Labor and materials of each subsequent piece is how the "per-piece" price is found.

An investment in a Bell'INVITO bespoke order takes time and effort like nothing you can order though a large-scale printing website. The exclusive nature of specialty printing and the cost associated with creating this type of luxury simply isn't geared towards mass-production. What we are proud to offer is an experience of timeless traditional craftsmanship aided yet unmarred by the digital era.

DIGITAL ORDERS are executed fastest. We still queue up your order to our super-savvy digital machines manually to ensure quality. Fine cotton papers are finicky and require some extra TLC when printed digitally.

LETTERPRESS ORDERS are sent to plate production as soon as your approval is received. As in all letterpress printing, the first color is applied to our vintage press by a skilled craftsman. This first impression requires testing and re-testing to reach the right shade and placement. Your letterpress plate (we use polymer) is mounted into our press and once the machine is set up perfectly by hand, each card is hand-fed for its beautiful, unmistakable impression. Next, a quality control check is completed, with a few extras for good measure, and the machine is thoroughly washed down. If you have a second color, your second clean plate is applied to the press and the process begins again with a new setup and a second round of stamping your colored impression onto each card by hand.

ENGRAVED ORDERS are also sent to plate production as soon as your approval is received. In traditional fashion, engraved printing (known in the industry as 'die stamping') begins with a set of engraved copper plates with counters (the 'back plate' made of a different material). Once plates are etched and ready, the first plate (or 'die') is mounted to the press. Next the machine is set up by a master craftsman for printing. The first ink color is poured into our vintage press fountain. As the ink flows it is monitored and tested by the craftsman for consistency before the printing can begin. Once perfected, each card is hand-fed for an unmistakably elegant raised-color print. Your quantity is completed, with a few extras for good measure, and the machine is thoroughly washed down. If you have a second color, your second clean plate is applied to a freshly cleaned press. The fountain is refilled with the new color, the set up is reconfigured, and the artist spends time perfectly aligning your next round of color impressions to the first round they have already applied.

ENVELOPE LINERS and QUALITY CONTROL Once printing production is complete, envelope liners (if chosen) are die cut and applied into your envelopes by hand. As a final step, a quality control specialist counts each order twice, records the details of your order for our records next to their name in case there are questions, and carefully wraps and packages your order with meticulous care for shipping.

ALL ORDERS are touched by every team member, ensureing that all eyes are on top of making sure your order is created with care and attention to detail.

ANY REQUEST FOR FURTHER CUSTOMIZATION is welcome, however these orders do incur additional costs. While small customizations may be accommodated through a small extra cost in the revision phase of your online order, larger customizations will be accommodated through our Custom Order process. Custom Orders begin with an appointment that covers the cost of the designer's time to create and estimate something unique for you. These orders require a 50% deposit on an approved estimate before any work begins. Expect pricing that starts on average 30-50% higher than a comparable online product. Anything is possible!
